CashBox Reporting for Salesforce Release Notes 2.9

CashBox Reporting for Salesforce Release Notes 2.9

Disclaimer

As of version 14.11, CashBox Reporting for Salesforce is now known as CashBox (Basic).

Features and Enhancements

This release includes the following new features and enhancements.

Option to Specify 'No New Accounts' on Import

A new admin configuration available on the CashBox Admintab allows you to dictate that only existing accounts are synced.

When set to true, any account with an Account Vindicia Record ID populated will be synchronized during routine import, and any account that does not have a matching Salesforce record will be ignored by the import/update process.

Use this option to prevent new accounts from being created by the CashBox imports.

Email Alert for Import and Export Errors

A new admin configuration available on the CashBox Admintab allows you to specify an email address to receive an email alert for each error encountered during routine imports or exports. (Real-time exports result from edits made to 2-way syncable fields within Salesforce.) The same email address will receive notices for both imports and exports.

Email Alert for Exceptions

A new admin configuration available on the CashBox Admin tab allows you to specify an email address to receive a Daily digest email listing all errors encountered during the previous day's imports.

Exceptions are typically valid notes on specific records ignored by the import process and do not indicate an error condition.

Status Descriptions and Error Messages on the CashBox Export Logs

Status descriptions and error messages on the CashBox Export logs have been clarified.

Bug Fixes

The following Bugs were fixed in 2.9:

Summary Description

Blank Error descriptions appeared on the CashBox Import log.

CashBox has eliminated conditions leading to blank or empty error messages on the Import log.

Inconsistent Behavior with Account Field Edits from SFDC led to lost or overwritten data in CashBox.

2-way mapping between Account fields has been improved and clarified to avoid loss of data and improve usability.

The improved mappings are:

Salesforce : CashBox
Account Name* : Company (Account)* Shipping Address : Shipping Address

(Lines 1,2,3, City, State/Province, Country, Phone, Fax)

Primary Contact** : Shipping Address Name Billing Address : Local Default Payment Method’s

Billing Address : Default Payment Method’s Billing Address

CashBox Contact*** (Address) : Shipping Address (Lines 1,2,3, City, State/Province, Country, Phone, Fax)

Notes:

*A special rule is used to import new accounts from CashBox: the Salesforce Account Name field is populated with the CashBox Company field, if available. If the Company field is not listed in your CashBox system, the CashBox Account’s Name field is used.

The continuing 2-way sync after the initial import is between the Account Name and Company. The CashBox Account’s Name field is therefore never synced again, preventing accidental over-write.

**Primary Contact is a custom field on the Salesforce Account created by the application. It is always synced (2-way) with the CashBox Account’s Shipping Address Name field.

***Upon initial import and routine sync, the app creates a Contact object on the account populated with the CashBox Account’s Shipping Address Name, mapping to the Salesforce Contact’s Last Name field (only synced upon creation, not thereafter). The Contact’s phone, fax, and mailing address are populated from the CashBox Shipping Address equivalents, and kept in sync thru 2- way updates.
