CashBox (Premium) Release Notes 14.1


The CashBox (Premium) product was formerly know as CashBox for Salesforce (Quote to Cash).

This release requires the use of CashBox (Basic) v14.11 or newer (formerly known as CashBox Reporting for Salesforce).


Upgrade to 14.1 steps

As part of the upgrade to the 14.1 release, the following manual configuration steps are necessary to resume proper functionality. After you complete the update, please perform the following 3 configuration tasks:

  1. Assign Opportunity record type = AutoBill page layouts
    1. Go to: Setup > Customize > Opportunities > Record Types
    2. Click on: Page Layout Assignment button
    3. Click on: Edit Assignment button
    4. Click on: AutoBill column header
    5. Go to: Page Layout to use select list and chose the Opportunity Layout option that has references to Cashbox
  2. Assign Opportunity record type = One-Time page layouts
    1. Go to: Setup > Customize > Opportunities > Record Types
    2. Click on: Page Layout Assignment button
    3. Click on: Edit Assignment button
    4. Click on: One-Time Charge column header; if there are other record types you may need to click the next button to go the next page
    5. Go to: Page Layout to use select list and chose the Opportunity Layout 2
  3. Override the Credit Object buttons
    1. Go to: Setup > Create > Objects > and click on the Credit object
    2. Scroll down to the Buttons, Links
    3. Click on: Edit next to the Delete list item and select Override With Visual Force Page and chose Revoke Credit
    4. Click on: Edit next to the Edit list item and select Override With Visual Force Page and chose Revoke Credit
    5. Click on: Edit next to the New list item and select Override With Visual Force Page and chose Grant Credit


Features and Enhancements

Refactor all API calls to CashBox 14.0

All API calls from to CashBox used in the CashBox (Premium) application are now using CashBox 14.0. The following table lists all API calls:

As of the 14.0 release, the CashBox (Premium) application can now take advantage of the CashBox AutoBill.modify() call. This allows users to make changes to an existing purchase, such as changing the billing plan, adding, removing or editing existing line items, with a single call. This enhances performance and accuracy by treating all the changes as one modify()call in cases where there is a need for a change roll-back.

Purchase Details History (Line Items and Billing Plans)

With this release, we’ve expanded your billing data to include Line Item History and Billing Plan History, which appear as separate objects under the Purchase. Line item History and Billing Plan History are not imported as part of the CashBox (Basic) application, with its continuous import jobs. Instead, they display the history only when specifically called (when you click the Refresh Purchase History button), or when a purchase is modified by a third party integration that generated history items. As part of the history, you will be able to see the status of the change (add, remove, edit) as well as a link to the replacing product or billing plan.

ACTION: You can adjust the page layout for the Purchase object by adding the related list of Purchase Details History. Also, remove the New button on the related list, but add a Refresh History custom button.

New Buttons

All recommended actions on the purchase page are now available via dedicated buttons. As of this release, three new buttons trigger their own flow.

ACTION: You can adjust the page layout for the Purchase object by adding the following five custom buttons: Manage Credits, Manage Refunds, Replace Payment Method, Refresh Purchase, and Refresh History (on the related list for Purchase Details History).

Manage Credits

For a customer service agent needing to issue or revoke currency credits, this button presents all existing currency credits as  two lists: existing credits and consumed/fully used credits. From this custom page, you can grant a new credit or revoke, partially or in full, an existing credit. This custom button is available for the account and purchase layouts.

Manage Refunds

For a customer service agent needing to issue a refund, this button presents a custom page with all eligible-for-refund transactions, displaying the eligible refund amount for each. When you proceed to issue a refund, you have the option to refund at the transaction level or at a item line level. This button is available for the account layout.

Replace Payment Method

For a customer service agent needing to update a payment method to a purchase, this button pre-filters all available payment methods for the account. On Save, the payment method change is sent to CashBox and the purchase will automatically reflect the change.

Refresh Purchase

The refresh purchase button makes a dedicated call to CashBox and fetches the latest data for the purchase. This targeted refresh is a substitute for the Account refresh, when the user is only interested in refreshing the single purchase and not the whole account. This is a fast action with higher performance relative to the account refresh.

Refresh History

When a purchase has sustained line item changes or billing plan changes, this button fetches the full history of line items and billing plans, and helps users understand all historical modifications.

Support for Multiple Currencies

With the CashBox (Premium) 14.1 release, customers can take full advantage of multiple currency purchases they have set up in CashBox. We understand that even though many internationals do business in multiple countries and currencies, their Salesforce org is set to one currency. We’ve used the native Salesforce schema to support multi-currency without building dependency on your Salesforce currency configuration.

Each CashBox defined currency is now present in Salesforce, and all products that have multi-currency pricing are mapped as  separate Price Book entries, one per currency.

When new purchases are created on the Opportunity, customers can now specify the sale currency, and only the products with pricing in the specified currency will be eligible for that purchase. If the currency setting on the opportunity were to change, all previous currency products would automatically be wiped, and any new products would have to be added according to the newly selected currency.

Once you have a purchase, the currency is fixed and cannot be changed on a purchase modification. The Opportunity for the modify will inherit the currency from the purchase, and only products from the currency Price Book can be added.

NOTE: You must manage all products and currencies directly in CashBox. Editing, creating or deleting products or Price Book entries in Salesforce can cause unintended behavior—until those products or currencies are overwritten by the next CashBox import cycle.

Manage Credits

CashBox supports Credits at the account level and at the Purchase level. To manage Credits click the custom button, Manage Credits, for Accounts or Purchases. A custom page opens listing all credits in two sections: Credits with a balance, and Credits with a zero balance (fully consumed). From this page you can issue new Credit, or fully or partially revoke existing credit. Each of the Account-issued Credits contain the full history of the credit as shown on the second image below, with details such as granted, consumed, revoked, and so on.

NOTE: Only currency credits are supported.


Manage Refunds

CashBox (Premium) enables Customer Care representatives to manage refunds when needed. With this release, you’ll find an included custom button on the Billings and Transactions records with captured fund. The button will enable you to issue full Transaction refunds or individual Transaction item refunds. Each refund can be set to full, partial percentage, or partial amount.

If a Transaction is paid by a Credit (fully or partially), a refund at the transaction level is supported and line item refunds are not available. If you perform a refund at the transaction level, the refund amount is NOT distributed to each line item. And any consecutive refund has to stay at the transaction level. For every line item refund, the sales taxes are always refunded in addition to the amount you specify for the line item.



Other enhancements

VF page on adding new products

In release 14.1, the Custom page for adding/editing opportunity products has been simplified and made more user friendly. All eligible products are displayed by default. The redesigned interface also allows multi product selection from different pages. When editing a product, only the data that can be changed will be open for edit; and if you replace one product with another, the page will refresh with all corresponding data elements for the new product.

Purchase-Opportunity links

All Opportunities are now linked to the resulting purchase. With each consecutive purchase modification, the name of the opportunity is incremented for easy order identification of changes. Also, on each purchase you can now see a list of all related opportunities.

Initial import start date

For new customers who are installing the CashBox applications, the default start date for which data will import is now moved to 1 Jan 2010.

MAX window for import jobs

In Custom Settings, we now have the ability to set a Max window size (in hours). When you set a start time that is many days or months in the past, the Max window parameter will limit the END time instead of using NOW (as it is in the current functionality).

The continuous import would still advance and move the import window, but the window size will not exceed the time specified in the MAX window size.

Rename all AutoBill references to Purchase 

To help users with consistent terminology, all AutoBill references in the applications are renamed to Purchase.

Settings to disable triggers for all cashbox objects

During debugging, if a Salesforce organization uses code in addition to the CashBox applications, the managed triggers can be temporarily disabled via Custom Settings. This enhancement is designed only for debug mode, however, and should be used cautiously.

WARNING: If you leave any of the CashBox triggers disabled, the application will not function according to spec and will not be supported.

Description on Opportunity record types

When creating a new Opportunity, the user can select from two options: AutoBill or One Time Purchase. Where previously the application did not indicate what each of the options means, it now provides a description of both the opportunity and record type.
