StoreFront Release Notes 5.9.0

New Features and Enhancements

This release contains the following enhancement.

Remove the default Payment Method radio button if the user enters a valid coupon code

StoreFront now provides merchants the ability to disable the requirement for customers to provide a payment method when, due to a coupon or other campaign promotion, the net cost for an initial-immediate transaction is zero ($0).

This is controlled by a checkbox labeled Require Payment Method entry when immediate charge amount is zero, which has been added to the Content > Add Content > Create Product Offer page.

If this checkbox is unchecked (the default), the following behavior results:

  • Payment Method validation is disabled on the Checkout page if the net/total charge is zero, and the Confirmation/Receipt page will not show any Payment Method information
  • Subscription Detail page will include Coupon Value if a coupon was used to buy the subscription
  • Subscription Detail page will not include Payment Billing information if there is no previous information about any other payment type on the user's account, and no billing transaction history was found

If this checkbox is checked, the following behavior results:

  • Payment Method validation will be required on the Checkout page even if the net/total charge is equal to zero ($0)
  • Customer is presented with the Add New Payment link on the Subscription Detail page if a payment method has not been provided and is required to pay future bills
